AIDS Mass slated for last Sunday in October
The fifteenth annual Diocesan AIDS Mass will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, October 28 at St. John's Church, Los Angeles.
Bishop Suffragan Chester Talton will preside, assisted by the Rev. Canon Mark Kowalewski, rector of St. John's, and the Rev. Dan Ade, associate rector. The Rev. Cathy Gray of St. James' Church, Los Angeles will preach.
A reception will follow the service.
The HIV/AIDS Commission, under the leadership of chair Pamela Payne and diocesan AIDS officer Jack Plimpton, is sponsor of the event.
The diocesan AIDS Mass has been celebrated by Bishop Talton each October, national AIDS Awareness Month, of his 15-year tenure as Bishop Suffragan of Los Angeles.
St. John's Church is located at 514 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles, near the University of Southern California.
